It’s official: the Marvel Cinematic Universe has its Fantastic Four cast, and we’re all in. Rumors have been circulating for quite a while now, which means this isn’t brand-new information for fans who are constantly keeping up, but it’s nice to have legitimate confirmation to hype us up for the upcoming films.
The Fantastic Four cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (The Thing). A hefty cast makes up for a solid family if you ask us. In many ways, Fantastic Four is a love story, which is fitting that Marvel decided to release the official news with an adorably retro graphic on Valentine’s Day. At the same time, while many of us had our own fan casts, it’s safe to assume that the official roster is better than we could’ve ever predicted.
Who’s more charming than Pedro Pascal? No one. Who managed to steal hearts in an ensemble show like Joseph Quinn did on Stranger Things? No one. Whose range is as extraordinary as Vanessa Kirby’s? No one’s. And who’s currently proving that he’s one of the most versatile actors of our time, like Ebon Moss-Bachrach? Quite a few people, sure, but there could not have been a better option for Ben Grimm.
In other words, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a little dry where the romance is concerned. We aren’t getting many happy endings the way we used to, so the addition of the Fantastic Four at least signifies that a steady romance is on the horizon, and we’re bound for a little joy amid all the chaos. It’s a generous thing, no, a genuinely excellent one that Pascal and Kirby could bring to life emotions that are going to hit right in the feels, proving that this casting is one of the best things to happen in ages.
