It feels like ages since we last ventured into Ravka or flew through the unruly streets of Ketterdam. And okay, sure, it hasn’t been that long in reality, but it’s felt like it. Since the announcement that the series has been renewed, it feels like we’ve been waiting far too long to not only reunite with the characters we adore but to see the cast additions we’ve been waiting for. But have no fear, Shadow and Bone Season 2 premiere date comes with new photos to cry about until the show resumes on March 16.
Here’s the thing, we have a photo of Kaz Brekker (Freddy Carter) and Inej Ghafa (Amita Suman), which is enough to make us spiral into the abyss. But we also have a photo of Jesper (Kit Young) and Wylan (Jack Wolfe). Let’s repeat, W E S P E R. There’s finally photographic evidence of the fact that the five crows will officially be six, and Jesper has his explosives guy/soulmate in the picture. What more could we want? Oh, Matthias Helvar (Calahan Skogman)? He’s here and he’s shirtless too.
Oh, a photo of Patrick Gibson as Nikolai? We’ve also got that. And while we got short previews of the new characters earlier this year, something about seeing still photos to showcase them in costume could give fans a lot to play with until the Shadow and Bone Season 2 premiere date. And we’ll be here for all the fan art, especially today when fan art is more crucial than ever now in the light of horrible AI trends. Did we mention we also got a photo of Tolya (Lewis Tan) and Tamar (Anna Leong Brophy)? Because we did.
While we don’t yet know if the Crows storyline will give us the plot to Six of Crows or thread them into Siege and Storm, considering how well intermingling arcs worked in the show’s debut season, we’ll choose to have hope in the story for now. There are many ways to work with both novels, and we’re here for it all.
