‘Shadow and Bone’ Season 2 Sneak Peek Teases the Incoming Storms

While we won’t be returning to the Grishaverse until sometime next year, we at least have a Shadow and Bone Season 2 sneak peek to keep us afloat until then. New cast members Jack Wolfe, Anna Leong Brophy, Lewis Tan, and Patrick Gibson appeared during Netflix’s TUDUM to show fans an exclusive look into their characters in costumes. Later, Jessie Mei Li and Ben Barnes joined them to debut a teaser for the new season.

In more ways than one, Shadow and Bone’s debut season was stronger than the books, which means that the second season is riding on a lot more with its critical introductions. For starters, the addition of Nikolai Lantsov (Gibson) equates to Siege and Storm being both bearable and engaging. The juxtaposing dynamic between Nikolai and The Darkling thrusts plenty into motion while presenting threats that feel more grounded in the fantasy genre. Because the Shadow and Bone Season 2 sneak peek doesn’t show us much, it’s too soon to tell how the characters will rival one another. However, it leaves us waiting to see them back on our screens with bated breath.

We even got a glimpse of our favorite criminals (The Crows), a shirtless Matthias, and what’s hopefully leading to the Ice Court heist from the first installment of Leigh Bardugo’s Ketterdam-centric duology, Six of Crows

Sometimes, a trailer is enough to show us everything we need to know about whether something is adapted properly (despite all the teasing that can happen, too). Still, in this case, we’ll have to wait until we’ve seen the season ourselves to determine that. There’s no set date when Shadow and Bone will return, but we have confirmation that it will arrive in 2023. And if we were to wager, we’re hopeful for a late-winter or early-spring premiere. While we wait, viewers can catch our Jesper Fahey (Kit Young) in Netflix’s The School For Good And Evil.
