So few moments in pop culture history have left fans all over with similar reactions. When The Little Mermaid teaser debuted yesterday, Twitter blew up with the words “chills” and Halle Bailey in the same sentence. It was clear from that moment that this very princess’s voice was going to set the world ablaze through an unbeatable performance that would go down in history. We haven’t seen the entire thing yet, but we know. We just know.

Disney’s live actions have been far from perfect. The heavy reliance on CGI has been an inevitable downfall, and at times, it’s taken viewers out of the story. Still, some like Cinderella (2015) and Aladdin have been fantastic, and Cruella has dome something unique despite its flaws. Thus, while we’re already dreading how some of the CGI will look in The Little Mermaid, it’s clear that much will be bearable as we haven’t had a voice like Bailey’s bring the heart of the story to life like this.

The teaser takes viewers through a short glide into “Part of Your World,” bringing stunning pieces of the sea to life as Ariel swims through our screens. Just as we reach the end, Bailey makes her first appearance, singing the lyrics “out of the sea, wish I could be, part of that world” and evoking the most brilliant soul-firing chills. There’s no getting over what Halley Bailey’s voice will do with the entire song, and if D23 wants to release the clip that was shown at the expo, we would be happier than a kid in a candy store.

Additionally, as most live-action Disney films have done, we’re most likely getting an original new song, which will (have to) feature Bailey’s Ariel as we’ve never seen her before, bringing in more happy tears than we could imagine.
