While Season 2 of PBS’ delightful hit Miss Scarlet and The Duke is still to air in the US, fans won’t be waiting too long until Season 3. Earlier today, PBS announced that the series would return early in the new year for its third season, amplifying our excitement that much more. Will Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 3 be what finally gives us a sailing ship? We sure hope so.
There’s nothing quite as comforting as a renewal ahead of a new season premiere, and with a show as thoroughly engaging as our delightful little crime romance, we’re all in for whatever writers have in store.
According to Deadline: The drama returns for its second season on Oct. 16. The action will pick up a few months after the end of season 1. Eliza (Kate Phillips) has solved her father’s murder, while her relationship with William ‘The Duke’ Wellington (Stuart Martin) continues.
Though we can’t predict how Season 3 will go without context for Season 2, at the very least, we can be confident in the fact that the scenarios will leave us all as angsty wrecks. Or, perhaps this time, if they’re an established couple, we’ll be happy angsty wrecks? Maybe? Yes? No? Who knows. All we know is that the people want a romance and so do we. As we continue watching William and Eliza grow closer, it’ll become much easier to root for them to do things as a couple. But, knowing TV as well as we do, something tells us that might not be the case. Though, if we’re proven wrong, count on us to give credit where credit is due and commend the writers for it.
Miss Scarlet and the Duke Season 3 will premiere on January 8, 2023, and Season 2 will return on October 16, 2022. What are you looking forward to seeing most when the show returns? Let us know in the comments below.
