Happy May the Fourth to all who celebrate, but especially to those wrecked because of the Obi-Wan Kenobi official trailer. While fans already knew Hayden Christensen would return to the series to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker (now Darth Vader), alongside Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi, seeing glimpses of him is a whole other emotional feat. Or, in this case, hearing him — the heavy breathing we could all recognize miles away.
We’re all perhaps taking part in heavy breathing while watching the Obi-Wan Kenobi official trailer, knowing that everything is about to get more bleak and harrowing before it gets better. Ewan McGregor has already teased that Obi-Wan is now more broken than when we leave him in Revenge of the Sith, but still, as much as we can prepare ourselves, it’s likely that this series will consistently tug hard on our emotions. All of them.
There isn’t much we know about the series’ premise, but from what we do know, and what the trailer ultimately shows is that it isn’t going to be easy for Obi-Wan as he navigates through running from all the bounties on his head. It also isn’t going to be easy for him to navigate through the emotional turmoil of failing his closest confidant.
The series also stars Kumail Nanjani, Joel Edgerton, Moses Ingram, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Maya Erskine, Benny Safdie, Bonnie Piesse, and more.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will begin streaming exclusively on May 27th on Disney Plus. Watch the trailer below and come scream with us in the comments.
