The wait is close to over, and we’ll be saying “hello there” real soon now that Disney has finally released the Obi-Wan Kenobi teaser and announced its May 25th premiere day (which fans have known for a while now). Long have we waited to see the noteworthy Jedi back on our screens, and now that he’s mere months away, words escape me. Shaking, crying, hyperventilating seems to be the norm on social media now as everyone collectively loses their minds over what we just watched.

Ewan McGregor will not only reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi, but we also know that Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. The teaser gives us a glimpse of a tiny Luke Skywalker, sabers galore, and new faces to get to know better. But first and foremost, Obi-Wan Kenobi. That’s who we’re here for. He’s who we’ve waited years for.

Since very little is known about what the six-episode series will showcase, the teaser gives us enough to temper our expectations and heighten our excitement. Only time will tell how he’ll get to the places we’ve seen him in during Star Wars: A New Hope. But for now, commence screaming and crying because hope survives. The wait is almost over.

What Obi-Wan as a character represents for so many of us is something truly indescribable. (Myself included, as my car is named after him. Yes, you read that correctly. I named my car Obi-Wan Kenobi.) He’s a character who’s been with us in the shadows, beside each of our unique journeys with Star Wars, and through everything, he has remained the constant we’ve so dearly loved.

He’s back, and that’s what matters more than anything else. Watch the Obi-Wan Kenobi teaser below and let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
