Yes, it’s that time again–4th generation it-boys Tomorrow X Together (TXT) are back again, this time with a repackage album (The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape) and a new track, LO$ER=LO♡ER.
And wow, friends, there is just a lot here and it’s all on another level.
With their last release, 0X1=Lovesong, TXT showed off a more rock-based sound with grittier vocals and an entire mountain of emotion. In similar fashion, LO$ER=LO♡ER keeps a similar sound profile and similar levels of emotion. This particular song would not be out of place next to some older pop-punk favorites (for example, I get serious All-American Rejects vibes).
But who doesn’t love an early 2010’s vibe melded with a modern pop sound? I didn’t ask for it but only because I didn’t know I wanted it!
I think the thing that is most compelling about this song is that they kept that same level of emotion from their last release and brought it again. The passion as they perform it is just overflowing at every turn and as a viewer, that makes the song and the performers very easy to connect to. I can feel their anguish, their resolution to run from the things that hurt them and never look back.
As a self–confessed Yeonjun bias it will come as no surprise I am especially vibing to his rap (at 2:43), but every member is flawless in this song and its accompanying video, of course. That chorus choreography, too, is just perfect for this song.
