It’s official and definitely, 100% not a drill, Ben Barnes has finally announced that he is releasing an EP. Titled Songs for You, and the first teaser on his instagram is of a single titled “11:11.”
Barnes took it to Instagram to officially announce the news, making it that much more personal for his fans, and ultimately, the music as well.
One of my biggest unfulfilled dreams has been to release my own music. Music has been my passion my whole life and after a few false starts 20 years ago, I decided not to pursue it as a career. But today, I am realizing that ambition and announcing the release of my own songs.
I have wanted to create something more personal and intimate, to offer up something joyful, honest, soulful and passionate; I hope that you find some of this on my EP.
‘Songs For You’ will be released on October 15th and the first single, ‘11:11’ is available for pre-order now!Source: Instagram
When it comes to music, most of the time I want to remain objective. I don’t like knowing much about the artist and I don’t like knowing their history or the stories behind the music. Why? Because if in any way they do something deeply problematic, I can’t listen to the music anymore. While I can sometimes separate an actor from a role, I can’t separate a musician from their music.
But Ben Barnes is one of the few people where a personal approach like this feels right for him (and the fans). Barnes’ passion for art and the detail that he brings 110% to everything he does continues to be a great reason worthy of admiration. He’s proven to be trustworthy where it matters and bringing to light just how much he wants this EP to be a vision of tireless work and intimate storytelling is beautiful to know.
The man has the voice of an angel, and the world deserves to hear his original music. Ben Barnes’ EP will likely destroy us all in the right way with a plethora of emotions, fueled with the tremendous heart he brings to whatever he puts out in the universe.
And that’s not all, Barnes released a teaser for the single 11:11, which has us all surely drowning in our emotions. Watch the video below, maybe on repeat about 20,402 times.
