Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch finally has a new premiere day! It’s now coming October 22, 2021. Before the Covid-19 pandemic hit, The French Dispatch was my most anticipated film of the year and quite frankly, I’m thrilled we’re getting a theatrical release for it as opposed to streaming. If anything is worth the wait, it’s always a Wes Anderson film, and this one especially, which will be about journalism so you know, we’re all for that.

This also might just be my next favorite poster, the first and the unbeatable being The Grand Budapest Hotel’s. If this magazine actually existed, I’d subscribe to it in a heartbeat because the aesthetic alone is everything. It’s largely why the anticipation for this film is so high because the last time we got a Wes Anderson film we got was in fact, The Grand Budapest Hotel. Although I appreciated everything that was done with Isle of Dogs, it’s high time we see some of our favorites in live action.

And this one brings in a fan favorite with Timothée Chalamet, so it’s likely bound to bring in a few new fans to Wes Anderson’s whimsical world of brilliance. It’s always so fascinating to see who Anderson will cast next, and bringing in Saoirse Ronan to The Grand Budapest Hotel was one of the best decisions made.

The French Dispatch also stars Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Edward Norton, Benicio Del Toro, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Léa Seydoux, Jeffrey Wright, Anjelica Huston, and more.

Anyway, I cannot wait to finally scream about this film with all of you when it’s finally out. Watch the trailer below and let’s chat!
